The Angular-winged Katydid is 2 1/2 inches in length.  Food is primarily the foliage of trees and shrubs.  Eggs are laid on leaves or stems during summer where they overwinter before hatching the following summer.  The very similar Broad-winged Katydid (Microcentrum rhombifolium) has comparable habits.
