| Description: The
Redback Salamander ranges in size from 2-4 inches. Coloration is
rusty red with a lighter red or yellow stripe running from the base of the
head to the end of the tail. A color variation, called "leadback",
is a uniform black to dark gray. The belly is mottled with a black
and white spotting.
Habitat: Found in wooded areas. Behavior: Can be found at high density in some localities. |
