| Description: The
Northern Slimy Salamander ranges in size from 4.5-6.5 inches.
Coloration is black with white speckling. Large specimens may have a
grayish cast. Body form is long and slender, except in large
specimens which become stockier with age.
Habitat: Found in moist woodlands and ravines. Behavior: The Slimy Salamander secretes a sticky substance from the skin glands. These secretions can be difficult to remove from your hands. |
