| Description: The
Green Frog ranges in size from 2-3.5 inches. Coloration is green to
brown, with some mottling. A ridge runs along the skin on each side
of the back. The tympanum (eardrum) is larger than the eye in males,
and the same size or smaller in females.
Habitat: Usually found in
permanent waters such as lakes, ponds, streams, wetlands and rivers, but
may also be encountered in temporary pools.
Behavior: The voice of the
Green Frog is compared to the plucking of a banjo string. Can be
either a single note or several in a row. |
