| The European Mantid is 2.5 inches in length, and found throughout the eastern US. This immigrant from Europe feeds on a variety of insects and anything else it can catch. It is even known to catch and eat hummingbirds! They are also quite cannibalistic, feeding on others of its kind. All mantids are usually considered as beneficial due to their ability to catch a variety of not-so-beneficial insects. |
