| Description:
These frogs range in size from 1-2 inches. Coloration is gray to
greenish with some dark mottling. Skin on the back is warty.
The inside surface of the hind legs are washed with orange.
Habitat: Most often found in
trees over or near water, but can also be found away from water.
Behavior: The voice of the
Cope's Gray Treefrog is a musical trill. The voice of the closely
related Gray Treefrog is a slower, lower pitched trill. This is the
only way to distinguish between these two species other than DNA analysis. |
